From Transit School to Regular School: Story of Murali
Murali is a 16-year-old teenager from LR Nagar. Unlike most of us, Murali has witnessed a lifetime of deprivation and skimpily escaped the horror of Child Rights Violation. Murali’s father is one of the daily wage earners in the unorganized sector, while his mother is a housekeeping worker. Due to unfortunate economic conditions of his family, Murali dropped out of school in early 2010 while still a 6th grade student. On the referral by a student of the Transit School at LR Nagar, CSA intervened and Murali got enrolled in the CSA Sponsorship Programme and soon became one of the students at the Transit School. Constant counselling and home visits by the Transit School teachers transformed Murali into a punctual and regular student at the school, from a rather irregular and indiscipline student. Life tremendously changed for Murali and he started showing great interest in learning all the subjects; understanding the importance of academic pursuance. He began to actively take part in all the events and competition conducted by CSA such as Sports Day, Independence Day, Milan, Gracias, etc. Attributed to the enhanced performance of Murali in the Transit school, he was soon admitted to a regular school. Today, Murali is a student at St. Sara School in Rajendra Nagar and continues to be a beneficiary of the sponsorship programme of CSA.
